L.C. Bird’s Robertson headed to Hampton

L.C. Bird running back Paul Robertson committed to Hampton on Friday, Bird coach David Bedwell said. Robertson was the All-Metro player of the year after rushing for 2,935 yards and leading Bird to the Group AAA Division 6 championship.

Robertson didn’t become a starter until his senior year, so he didn’t pick up any offers until the end of his senior season. But after he ran for 1,144 in four playoff games, Delaware, Towson, New Hampshire, Norfolk State and Temple all showed interest.

Bird will have at least three players sign with Division I schools Wednesday. Jay Anderson and Brandon Walker have committed to Norfolk State.
